Nienke Spaan off the podium but a handsome return on course
"The spirit on the green is competetive, but sportsmanlike. Ofcourse we all want to win, but we all want the bal lto get in the hole (or stay out of the bunker/rough ). The course is difficult, because the greens are very fast and I had personally some struggles with the tee-off, because some fairways were small with a very high rough next to it.
I played footgolf for the first time in June 2013, but a few weeks later I got injured, so couldn’t play. I stayed involved by organising and watching, but started playing this summer.
My goal was a good result at the UK Open and after my first terrible day I made becoming 4th my goal and I achieved! My goal for next season is to start thinking like a footgolfer instead of a footballplayer.
I think my next competition will be a Dutch qualifier.
Ofcourse I do! It would be bad if I didn’t know the man who’s leading!
I love the sport and the atmosphere, hopefully the sport will keep growing!"
